King County Government
King County Government released this short summary regarding How to Apply for Workers Compensation in Washington State and COVID19:
From King County.Gov: “Workers’ compensation is a state-run insurance program that provides benefits for people who suffer job-related injuries or illnesses. It is operated by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (lni. wa.gov). In most cases, exposure to or contraction of COVID-19 is not considered to be an allowable, work-related condition. However, under certain circumstances, claims from health care providers and first responders involving COVID-19 may be allowed. For a COVID-19 claim, you must show:
- There is an increased risk due to your occupation
- If not for your job, you would not have been exposed
- You can identify a specific source or event in your job that led to your exposure (for instance, you treated a patient with the virus)
