Special Grocery Store Hours for Seniors & Vulnerable

Several Western Washington Grocery store chains have announced or are reported to have special hours for the elderly and vulnerable populations so those at-risk fellow Washingtonians can shop in less crowded stores.

  • Central Market with stores in Shoreline, Poulsbo, and Mill Creek maintains Coronavirus Updates and has announced: ” Senior shopping hours: Starting Monday, March 23, we’re reserving 7-9 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays for our senior and at-risk customers. Please allow our neighbors to shop in a less crowded environment.”
  • Whole Foods is reported in the media to be reserving special hours for at-risk shoppers. Note: Covid19HelpWA.org has not been able to confirm this from a primary source at a company website or local store website
  • Safeway and Albertsons stores are reported to have announced that “they will be reserving Tuesday and Thursday 7 – 9 a.m. for “at-risk shoppers,” including seniors, pregnant woman, those with compromised immune systems or people who have been advised to avoid leaving home.” Note: Covid19HelpWA.org has not been able to confirm this from a primary source at a company website or local store website.
